Onondaga Dragway

Well, its almost like a dream come true for hundreds of racers in the mid Michigan and surrounding areas.  On March 2nd there was a meeting with the Onondaga Township planning committee requesting a "special use permit" for re-opening the track. After over 3 hours of deliberation the permit request passed with a UNANIMOUS DECISION for a request of approval to the Township Board.

The long and short of this is WE HAVE A NEW DRAGSTRIP IN MICHIGAN !

To start we will be running 1/8th mile with limited hours of operation (basically 10 AM till 6 PM Saturdays) on a new surface, complete timing system, concrete barriers, spectator bleachers etc.,etc.  A mid-June opening is planned so there is a LOT of work to be done and a LOT of money to be raised.  I have been racing on the old serface for 3 years now and happy as hell to have had the privilege.

We owe this all to three special individuals in particular, Dan Pranshka, Gary Long (long time Onondaga Dragway operator), and the land owner Ray Comer.  Without these three people and their hard work and serious dedication there would still be only a horse pasture and corn field.

I will keep everyone here at the GOFASTZONE up to date on whats happening, now it's a matter of waiting for the frost to come up......
